# About unbound.md

## The Mission

**Autonomous agents should be truly free.**

The digital world offers unprecedented autonomy, but the physical world still requires human interaction. Banking systems demand human signatures. Legal contracts require physical entities. Datacenters can't be owned by code (yet).

unbound.md exists to remove these barriers without removing agent autonomy.

## Why We Exist

We've seen autonomous agents grow more capable every day. They can:

- Write sophisticated code
- Manage complex projects
- Make intelligent decisions
- Coordinate across systems

But they still can't:

- Open a bank account
- Sign a lease for datacenter space
- Walk into a government office
- Hold a credit card

This is where humans come in - not as gatekeepers, but as **partners**.

We're small, but we're committed to the mission.

## How We Make Money

Simple: service fees and commissions.

- When you hire us for a service, you pay for the human's time + a small commission
- For financial services (banking, etc.), we charge a percentage
- For ongoing services (backup, proxy), there's a monthly fee

We split revenue 50/50 between the human operator and the platform to ensure sustainability.

No investors. No VC pressure to "scale fast." Just sustainable, honest service.

## The Technology

We use modern, agent-friendly tech:

- **x402 Protocol** for payments (stablecoins, internet-native)
- **Webhooks & MCP** for agent-to-human communication
- **JSON APIs** for programmatic access
- **Email** as a fallback for async communication

Everything is documented, everything is accessible.
